KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Another local eatery is teaming up with the Kansas City Current when it opens its new CPKC Stadium this spring.
The Current announced High Hopes Ice Cream will serve up signature scoops in the new stadium.
“High Hopes Ice Cream will scoop top tier flavors as we cheer on the KC Current,” CPKC Stadium chef partners Megan and Colby Garrelts said.
“Get excited for spring and summer selections specific for the pitch. Nothing pairs better during the warmer seasons like hand-crafted ice cream and professional women’s soccer!”
High Hopes will be located in the northwest corner of CPKC Stadium, serving two signature flavors: Bourbon Butter Pecan Ice Cream and Cookies and Cream Ice Cream. High Hopes is also working on a KC Current exclusive flavor, which they’ll unveil at a later date.
The KC ice cream shop, located near 56th Street and Troost Avenue, opened during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, it’s received several awards as a local favorite.
Owner Jamie Howard credits the community for making her dream come true.
“As a female business owner and mom of two beautiful girls, it is an honor to be a part of the first stadium purpose-built for women’s sports in the world,” Howard said. “We’re so excited to bring our ice cream for the best soccer fans in the world to try!”
This is just the latest in a slew of food and beverage announcements for CPKC Stadium.
Team leaders have already announced Ruby Jean’s Juicery, Boulevard Brewing, Yoli Tortilleria, Billie’s Grocery, Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que, Local Pig, Waldo Thai and Room 39 will serve Current fans this year.
KC Current leaders said they have more food and beverage announcements to make soon. The new CPKC Stadium opens ahead of the 2024 season.
