KC businesses getting creative to meet demand of Chiefs Kingdom

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Across the Kansas City metro, fans are buying up merchandise and products that scream KC.

Businesses are getting swept up in the excitement as the Chiefs head to the Super Bowl.

Merchants are having fun from products like coffee at Parisi to hot sauce at Spicin Foods.

“We’re very excited to be a part of this and jump on this locomotive train that’s seems to be headed to the Super Bowl seems like every year,” Business Development Executive Mike Armstrong said.

  • 142.2 dB hot sauce
  • Arrowhead Smoke BBQ sauce
  • Trinidad Scorpion BBQ sauce

Spicin Foods is the Official Sauce of the Kansas City Chiefs and Armstrong said it’s been a success.

While Arrowhead knows decibels, 142.2 to be exact, Spicin Foods knows the Scoville Scale. We got a taste of Da Bomb, which is 135,000 Scoville units.

Now through Super Bowl Sunday, you can sink your teeth into a delicious burger at Westport Flea Market for just $3. The restaurant is celebrating Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes going for his third Super Bowl win, and honoring the price of a burger with the same number.

At Parisi Coffee inside Union Station Baristas created the KC-tado.

“I made a little bit of a heart there,” Multi-Unit Cafe Manager Eric Schmidt said.

A custom printed stencil helps put the powdered strawberry on top.

“Making our KC-TADO,” Schmidt said.

Through Super Bowl victory Parades in recent years, the NFL draft and several AFC Championships, Union Station has been a hub for fans to celebrate.

Parisi employees said they’re happy to be the fuel.

“It’s just been so energetic and so vibrant. this building is full of life, and we can feel it every day,” Schmidt said. “We see customers that are the biggest Chiefs fans in the world and they’re coming here all the time and it’s so cool to witness all of that.”

Margie Schaff and her sister stopped by Union Station to snap a picture with Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, or at least cardboard cutouts of the superstars.

They enjoy the community hype.

“Everybody’s coming together. We love it,” Debbie Wunch said.

“I think that’s the heart of Kansas City. We do rally around our teams and I think it just shows our spirit,” Schaff said.

You can get Spicin Foods sauces online or at some area grocery stores.
