NorthPoint Development plans a return to Berkley Riverfront with a $42 million phase-two apartment project.
The Kansas City developer in 2022 opened CORE, a $60 million riverfront complex with 355 studio, one- and two-bedroom units. Now, NorthPoint is under contract to buy a 2.2-acre parcel just north that houses overflow parking for Bar K.
The Port Authority of Kansas City secured the deal not long after opting not to extend a previous contract with St. Louis-based Lux Living beyond its July expiration.
NorthPoint’s phase-two proposal calls for 152 additional apartments in a six-story building that would include small ground-floor retail space and a public art plaza at its western edge.
The complex would have 143 dedicated parking stalls, including in a podium garage, with an additional 160 spaces to be shared with other area developments, including CORE’s first phase and Bar K.
