Tiki Taco is celebrating its grand opening in downtown Overland Park.
The Kansas City-based taco shop originally planned a late summer opening last year but instead opened Monday afternoon.
“We have pretty lofty goals for this brand,” co-owner Lyndon Wade said during a previous interview. “This was never planned to be a one-off taco shop.”
The Overland Park restaurant at 7514 W. 80th St. is Tiki Taco’s third area location.
It will seat about 30 inside and there’s also an outdoor patio area with four tables and an exterior walk-up window. In 2022, Tiki Taco bought the roughly 2,800-square-foot building, which previously housed a family-owned plumbing business dating to the 1940s.
